St. Louis County – South County Connector Road

St. Louis County – South County Connector Road

St. Louis County is studying the area near Laclede Station Road and Highway 44 and nearby area for the purpose of creating a new road plan to reduce traffic congestion. The County recently completed its draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and is taking public comments before the final route is chosen. The revised South County Connector corridor extends from Hanley Road, in the vicinity of Flora Avenue, to River Des Peres Boulevard at Watson Road. It encompasses the Deer Creek Center, Big Bend Industrial Court and part of the parking lot of the Shrewsbury MetroLink Station. A new, full interchange at Interstate 44 is being proposed as part of the project. Two variations of what is known as the River Des Peres Boulevard alternative have been evaluated.
