Railway Exchange Building, St. Louis City, Missouri.

The old Famous Barr Building in Downtown St. Louis, known as the Railway Exchange, is a historic landmark that has been sitting vacant for years. It has been boarded up, broken into, the subject of two fires, and vandalism. The owners are behind in rent and not doing anything to save the building, so the City will now take action.

Alderwoman Cara Spencer introduced a measure to move forward with the building by introducing a bill that will start the eminent domain process by which the city can take control of the building. The legislation would allow the city to take possession of the condemned property and preserve it.
