Northwest Missouri: Midwest Transmission Project – KCP&L FINALIZES the route
KCP&L (Kansas City Power & Light) is planning a new 345-kv electric transmission line from the Sibley, Missouri substation to Nebraska City, Nebraska. A new Mullin Creek substation is planned for south of Maryville, Missouri. The new overhead transmission line will be approximately 180 miles long, and is expected to be in use by 2017. Easements across properties will be required to construct the transmission line.
The project is projected to cost $400 million and is being constructed in partnership with Omaha Public Power District. The route of the 150- to 190-mile transmission has been finalized and the map can be found below
