Limestone Ridge Transmission Line

Limestone Ridge Transmission Line

Limestone Ridge Project – Final Route Map

Ameren Transmission Company (ATXI) is working with the Wabash Valley Power Alliance (WVPA) to build and construct a proposed 15 mile 138 kV transmission line. The project is planned to include new substations along the route. The new line will connect two new substations in Perry and Cape Girardeau Counties. A majority of the the line will be co-located along the existing Wabash Valley Power Alliance right-of-way. The rest of the route will require the acquisition of easements. This may likely include the use of eminent domain procedures to acquire easements. Negotiations with land owners is expected to begin in early 2022. The proposed in-service date for the project December 2023.

What Are My Rights?

Many property owners do not realize they have a right to compensation for the electric lines and towers placed on their properties. If even a portion of their property is used by electric companies for their utilities, owners are entitled under the Constitution to receive just compensation.

Just compensation includes not only the value of the property lost to electric utilities, but also damage done to the remaining property. Property owners should consult an attorney before signing any documents effecting their property. Attorneys at Denlow & Henry provide an initial consultation at no charge to a property owner.
