Lee’s Summit Chipman Road Project on Hold

The old railroad corridor was acquired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Before the City’s design can be completed, the exact uses of the corridor (whether a bikepath or perhaps light rail) needs to be determined. Jackson County is meeting with all relevant agencies in order to develop the requirements.

The preliminary design began in May, 2011 and a preliminary design was completed in October, 2011 as was the right-of-way plans, tract maps and legal descriptions in early 2012. Land acquisition for easements and right-of-way is on hold until the railroad right-of-way issue is resolved. Plans are 90% completed. The 90% Marking and Signing Plans are included below.
